Is anyone else having trouble getting the expanding closed end mandrels to catch and hold in the tube? I have a number of different sizes and they all start out great cinching up but after numerous uses are all just spinning and won't grip. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking of going back to my old jam chucks and key chucks..... Any quick tips??

Put a coat of epoxy on them, then (after very well set) sand the coat round as you run the lathe, now it fits tight again.

Yes, ask me how I know this!!!

Chris,

This is NOT for you-you won't do it!

For SOME others: First take the bolt out of the "mandrel" so you don't glue the bolt in place. THEN put epoxy around it. When finished, clean out the vertical spaces so the bolt can, once again, expand the "mandrel".
