Closed end Barons

Hello all
I turned my first closed end Baron over the weekend ( have to get some pics). I am wondering, for those that have turned them before, do you use the spring under the rollerball refill?

Yes, you need to use the spring. After you drill the large hole for the tube, you need to drill a relief hole for the spring. (the relief hole would be where the cap normally holds the spring) Anyway, I was told to make it 1/4" dia, but I found the spring hard to fit in, so I went about 1/64th larger.

I found the 1/4" hole too small for the spring as well. The pen works fine without the spring, it just does not have that "cushy" feel . I am trying a bit larger hole on the one I am working on now.

I also find 1/4 to small I usually use 7mm
