I finished or almost finished :D 3 knotted pens. My question is there is a lot of time and work put into the crosses and I don't want to cover it up with the clip. I searched past pics and most of you kept the clip on but photographed it with the clip turned to the side. Has anyone else thought about this, or is the clip too important and you sacrifice some beauty for function.

I haven't done a knot yet, but in my opinion. If you are selling the pen, functionality is more important then artistic value. If you keep them then leave off the clip, but knowing that the pens will be for the desk top only.

My first knots were centered on the blank then realized it looked better (to me)centered between the top and bottom of the clip.

I just installed the clip where it was centered over any of the knot intersections rather than just randomly sticking it on.

"Clip or knot?"..... I vote... both!
