Someone mentioned yesterday that the Classic American pens (and I'm assuming the Flat Top pens made by Berea) no longer require a tenon to be turned on the cap barrel.

I'm curious about this. The instructions at Woodcraft still state that the kit needs a tenon. Nothing on Berea's site indicates that the kit doesn't need a tenon. Arizona Silhouette's instructions still state it needs a tenon, and an e-mail from Ernie at Bear Tooth Woods says the same thing.

So I'm curious - is there a Classic American kit that doesn't require a tenon, and if so, who sells it?

Thanks,
Jim

That explains it - it is a Penn State kit that doesn't require the tenon - not the Berea model that Woodcraft, AZ Silhouette, and BTW sell..

Thank you!
