Civil War Pen - Something Different

Rough turned, hand carved, burnt. Monkey Pod Wood, Poly finish.

Thought this looked appropriate for a Civil War replica pen.

EASY CARVING

Looks good. How was hand carving it?

It was easy. Needed to take care to not carver too deeply. Monkey Pod wood is very soft for a hardwood..... but the wood and grain is very nice. (Though that doesn't show up on this pen.) I may do others in cherry or oak wood. I think the carving may show up a little better.
