Cigar pen Info.

I want to make a pen for a friend of mine who is scheduled to come home from Iraq real soon.
I want to engrave a USMC Logo on it. And from what I understand to really get a good job, the barrel should be about the size of a cigar pen. But I have no idea how big the diameter of a cigar pen is.
I had some thoughts on this, and may end up using a cigar pen kit. But i'm not sure at this point.
Can someone tell me the diameter of a cigar pen.

The diameter of a Cigar pen is in the hands of the turner. However, if the turner makes the pen according to the design and, doesn't adlib, the lower portion is ca. 1/2" dia. and the clip end is ca. 9/16" dia.

You mean the top(clip) is bigger than the middle?
I have been puttin these together up side down!
