I have had a very nice piece of mesquite burl with some yellow sap wood on one end. I made it into a cigar pen yesterday but made a major mistake. When I put the blanks on the mandrel I mixed up the long piece and that short piece. The top barrel is about 3/16" shorter than the narrower bottom barrel. Is there a way to redeem my mistake?

Also I saw some time ago a pen posted that had a magnetic post to hold the top barrel of the pen when it was being used. I have looked but can't find it again. Does anyone know what the name of this kit is and where to purchase it?
Thanks William

You can use CA to build up the thickness of the top barrel (DAMHIKT). It takes a while but will work.

Magnetic capped pens are the Zen, Graduate (rollerball, fountain), Vertex, Vertex Supreme, maybe even a few others that I haven't thought of.

P.S.
Don't sweat the cigar mixup too much. While it is frustrating, you'll get some experience with CA in.
