Cigar Humidor Turning Kit

I want to try and make a cigar tube humidor and I'm just a little bit unsure of how to drill the blanks. I've searched the threads here and I've either overlooked the forum/thread or its not there. Can someone point me in the right direction to get some help or tips on doing this? Thanks a bunch.

Drill press will work fine. You may have to move your table up or down to compensate for the lack of quill travel.

Drilling it on the lathe will work as well. I start with a 3/8" then 3/4" then the final size bit to step up to the full bit. Starting with the full bit first will dull the bit and heat the blank considerably.
