Cigar Assembly Problems-HELP-solved

Pictured below is my first cigar pen, but the question..is the transmission supposed to be 2 peice? The silver cap appears to go on the transmission shaft but it does not stay and when the upper blank pushes on the lower nothing keeps them together, the upper blank simply falls off when turned upside down. I'm looking but not seeing!!

Looks to me like you got a defective transmission there . It SHOULD be all 1 piece .

Problem solved. I pressed the silver cap onto the shaft of the transmission... once I decided which way it goes, it snaps over a groove at the top of the shaft. It now works fine. Thanks for the help, I scanned an image of the finished product.

Looks like a bad tranny. The tranny screws over the refill. The end of the tranny is held by the tube on the clip holder that you pressed in. That friction fit allows the tranny to operate.

Contact the seller and ask for a replacement tranny. It should be replaced free of charge...[]
