Churchill coupler

I am needing to buy some Churchill kits to use and was wondering if the coupler that everyone has a problem with breaking is replaced in the kit with a metal one. On one suppliers list there are all metal couplers for sale that match the plating of the pen. Is the one that comes with the kit just black plated metal? If not I guess i should order the metal ones.

I get my Churchills from Bear Tooth Woods, the new metal coupler is now inclused in the kits when you buy them.

They also sell the new couplers seprately if required.
