i glued up several walnut maple blanks to turn ornaments for my kids, all these blanks failed. i glued them with ca to speed up the process, it has never failed before, any thoughts on why they failed? temperature wasnt a consideration, it was controled. they all broke during sanding, and i didnt "rope sand", i pinch sanded all of them, they just failed at the joints. alot of heart break here.

Ouch, I just made 24, some with glued on finials...I only broke one and that was due to a catch...so that ornament is now round bottomed. Can't imagine why the joint would fail at the sanding stage.

All my ornament bodies were solid with only the finial glued on...are you saying the body itself was glued up? What part failed?
