Has anyone, other than myself, dropped by their local hardwwod flooring company looking for scraps?
I stopped at one in S. Hackensack, NJ a while back and picked up lots of purpleheart, tiger maple, mahogany, cherry, walnut, etc. for about $10 for a milk crate full.
