Hey everyone,

I have a Jet 1014 VS (obviously on the VS part). I'm looking to change to a higher speed, yet when I move to the smaller wheels on the sprocket, the belt slips? Why is this happening? Do I need a different belt? What can I do to get my lathe up to a higher speed? Can someone give me an overview on changing speeds in general? Thanks, and sorry for so many questions.:)

I don't have a VS 1014, and have never worked with a VS lathe... but when I change belt speeds, the motor has a tension control at the lower front corner... when you change belts, can you take up the slack in the belt by loosening the motor tension and pushing it down to create more tension on the belt...
