What is the best way to cut and or laminate wood for the knot...
Having fun trying be a tad frustrated....

Thanks in advance

please do a search. All your answers are already on the site. Search for "Celtic knot tutorial". One of a dozen good responses you will see is this one: http://www.penturners.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=24985

The search function on IAP and IAP's photo gallery is the second best thing about the entire site. The best thing is all the knowledge sharing that goes on which makes the search function useful.

Jim,
The way I read your question, it sounds like you're asking how to create the pieces
that go into the blank rather than how to make the knot per se.
If that's the case, see this thread:

George's answer is the simplest, safest way to make single 'slices'. I've done that too.
Typically, I make long continuous strips using my planer and a planer sled --
I posted photos in my Misc. album.
Some folks use a drum sander.
