Hi everyone, I am new to turning and wish to turn some pens for gifts and would like to try a Celtic knot. Are there any instructions available that give angles and procedures? I have searched but without success. Thanks to all.

Hi Bear, The first one JB refers to http://content.penturners.org/articles/2007/celticknot.pdf is the one I have been using to do my knots. really pretty easy if you have a table saw and make a sled for it with 45 degree runners.(you could make the angles anything) Make sure you cut your saw kerfs so that there is barely any wood holding the blank together (maybe 1/32 to 1/16). You CAN do it if you cut all the way through DAMHIKT. The hardest part for me is cutting the thin inserts for the blanks.
There is an example below.

Good luck,

John
