She said, "Oh, I've gotta have one of those for my husband. He loves Celtic stuff." She insisted on the clip as well. The blank is a stabilized boxelder burl from PSI.

My aunt has said she wants to commission me to make 3 pens for her daughters as Easter presents for next year, but she had one caveat: they had to have a cross on them, and have a good bit of pink. I was going to do a decal, but then lo the celtic pen comes out with the cross clip.
Do you advance the pen by turning the nib/point section? What do you think of the celtic pen with the cross clip? Not too bulky, good and sturdy, feels good in the hand to write with, etc?

To be quite honest that pen is not my cup-o-tea. I think the cross is a bit much, yet that's what really clinched the sale. I think the OEM supplied clip is more balanced looking. Over all, the pen is quite heavy and bulky. I don't much care for it for my own use, but that may be just me. The client loved it so, everyone to their own I suppose.
