I made my first 2 polymer pen blanks today. 1 for a Sierra and 1 for a cigar. The cigar was an accident but after doing the 1st tube (short) I went ahead and did the long tube. The polymer on the Sierra is fine. A little proud of the bushing but hasn't been sanded down yet. On the Cigar I'm along way from getting to the bushings. Can I cast the polymer clay? Everything is baked hard. Thanks from you experts out there.

Yep. Shouldn't be an issue at all.

The only problem you could possibly have is in turning it. If the PC extends beyond the surface of the PR and you turn into it....it just turns different. When that happens, I usually throw a couple coats of CA over it all and it is fine.

I tried this with one my wife made. Only problem is your PR is going to be paper thin and may not adhere really well. That was the problem I had. Turned it and must have gotten too aggressive because the PR seperated from the PC.

Never know until you try though. Just take really really light cuts! DAMHIKT! LOL!
