Made my first casing pen and wanted to make it a set with a pencil but when I went to put it together I need the center band from the slimline kit to make it work and fit together.

Any ideas on how to make this work?

If it is a click mechanism, the centerband only holds the top and bottom together and aesthetically mirror a matching pen. Try using one long solid tube or turn the centerband down so that it recesses into each tube. If spacing is crucial be sure to allow for the missing centerband.

If it is a twist mechanism like a cigar pencil, I would think you could turn it down as well. Depending where the junction falls you could recess it into a tenon on the top or bottom piece.

Brian - the tube suggestion is not an option because the tubes are already in the casing. When I get time, I'll have to try turning down the center band.

It is the click style slimeline pencil kit that I am trying to use.
