I have a question about the JR Statesman in the middle. I used a blank that was labeled as Canarywood, but the blank did not look like the description I read of Canarywood. It looked like very black ebony. Not a lot of grain and almost waxy looking. The casing pens are 30.06 and 300 Win Mag.

Thanks very much for info and opinions. I probably need to read up on the photography tips as well.

can you give us a bigger pic of the one in the middle by itself, on a white background? Put it on a 45 degree angle in the view finder (i.e. put the top in one corner, and the bottom in the diagonally opposite corner) to get maximum size on the screen. That should help us figure out what it is. Well, maybe not _me_...I don't know my woods that well, but some of the others here are pretty good!
