I got a 5lb bag of pen blanks from Woodcraft and while I've been able to identify a few of the more obvious blanks I'm challenged with a few of these since I'm still learning woods.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Woodcraft usually stamps or marks a number on the end of thier blanks (even my blanks by the pound had numbers). If yours have the numbers on the ends, I have the woodcraft legend that tells what each number is supposed to be.

The couple of times I got that bag, it had walnut, maple, paduak, maybe a tulip wood. Mostly seemed like walnut and maple.
pic 1,2,5,8 look like walnut mostly. You might have a yellowheart, padauk, and red oak looking pieces in there as well.

The first two (across the top) look like walnut. The third one in the second row looks like East Indian Rosewood. The first one on the second row might be Osage Orange, but I would think it would be a little more yellow if it were.

Thanks to all that have replied! I appreciate the help. I double checked a couple of things and apparently I posted the same walnut pic twice (duh) and unfortunately the wood didn't have anything stamped on the ends to help identify it. I'll take this as a jump off point for more research.

rjwolfe3 - I love the picture!
