I need some help, I have turned a blank before taking note of the type of wood. Could someone help me identify this. I have search all over the web and found nothing...

Here is all the info I have:
1. This is the first blank of the wood type I have ever seen so I am guessing it sort of rare.
2. From what I remember of the label, the wood name begins with a P and my contain and R and N somewhere within the name.
3. It was not a cheap wood. I am guessing about $2.50-4.00 a blank.

I hope this picture will help:

It's curly wood! [:D] And a very beautiful pen.

Do you have other blanks of it and could you post a pic of those also? Any clues as to the hardness, density, odor? Possibly a photo of the backside of the pen (non-curly area) to show the grain structure.

Sorry I can't offer a guess. There are too many possibilities that it could be based on the photo.

Pikebite, I think you got it! I looked on several exotic wood websites but skipped that one for some reason. Pyinma it is!

Thanks! [:D]
