I know nothing about what I need to make them but the wife has requested a few. Can someone give me the what I need list in a "Calligraphy pen making for Dummies" format?

Landon,

I'll give it a try.

You will need pen blanks.

If I remember correctly, you need a 1/4" drill for the insert.

The hole in the blank only needs to be deep enough to mount the insert. This allows most of the pen to be solid for strength. Shape can be however you want.

You can use a pin chuck or a 1/4" rod as a mandrel in a drill chuck and the point of your live center in the wood to support the end of the blank. Shape can be however your fancy strikes you.
