I saw in the paper today that the calligraphers guild is having a class on February 3rd. My wife is interested in learning and I thought I would go along.

I searched calligraphy and think I already know the answer but since time is short want to make sure I order everything that I need.

The CSUSA nib says it won't work on the Havana, Gentlemen or Statesmen. I guess it would work on the Baron and Gent Jr. What about the Emporer or the Americana?

Do I need special ink? I have some Private Reserve, is that OK?

I want to take the nicest pens I can and hopefully there will be some interest from others in having me make them one.

Thanks in advance.

Emperor no, Americana, yes.
PR ink should do just fine. It's what I have primarily fed my CSU calligraphy nib for a year or two now.
Have fun with the class and let us see some samples afterwards!

Steve
I took a class at the Phila Pen show last weekend. They gave out shaffer pens and nibs. Those nibs also fit the Baron and Jr Statesman. This open a whole range of nib sizes.
