I need a little help, well my wife will say a lot actually. I have been making some antler pens and while applying the CA it ends up glueing the bushings to the pen mandrel. What am I doing wrong? To much CA? What is the secret?

thanks

LOL...sounds like something I would do! Two ways to get them free that I can think of:
1) Use some acetone; that should soften the CA (maybe soak the mandrel and bushing in it? I'm not sure what the acetone will do to either, so do this at your own risk)
2) use a standard screwdriver to wrap on the edge of the bushing; CA is very brittle, and the force should be enough to break its bond. (OK, so this should also be done at your own risk!)

Good luck!

I too have had this happen in the past, just take the mandrel to a set of concrete steps and tap the bushings on the concrete and in a few seconds they will slide right off. Since I now wax my mandrel and bushings prior to ca applications I no longer have a problem.
