Has anyone turned burl from a willow tree? I have been told it is hard to turn. (like trying to turn a sponge.) I might have acess to some & want to know if it is worth getting. Thanks Joe S.

I have some willow..yes it has given me a hard time.... not in the turning but in the finishing... I get really bad dark spots and they look really bad. It loks like i am burning the wood when I sand..but i have tried several different cominations in finishing adn they all look the same... If you have time prior to your purchase...PM me and i will send you a couple of blanks to try.....
