Just before Christmas I bought a dead center and a 60 degree live center. Had a friend who is an A+P mechanic and machinist turn some bushings with a 60 degree taper on the inside. Then on New Years day I came down with a bad case of the flu and just today felt well enough to go into the shop. Wow, Wow, Wow. Smooth fast and very easy to turn and sand right up to the correct size. I am sold, well with the investment in tools and now I don't have to keep replacing bent mandrels.

I like turning on a mandrel because it is fast but I am also sick of the vibration and replacing mandrels. I purchased a center drill and I am converting my existing bushings into between center bushings and if I need any new ones I am using JonnyCNC it is fun and accurate but more time consuming!

I do convert them on a metal lathe though!
