Well, I might want to make some pens with brass instead of gold parts.
They are like some tools, brass and rosewood.

Most of the parts are brass inside, so if I use some strong buffing compound maybe I can get down to the brass, and either PC or epoxy coat them.

The clips are a different story !! A magnet sticks to them.... brass plating on the way ?

Any comments?

While brass would be quite interesting, I'd be more inclined to look for bronze with the ability to create that beautiful patina!

Yes, I like the idea of bronze very much.

The thing is that they sell marking and measuring tools in rosewood and brass.... I want to make a couple pens to match.

The cap studs I've had aren't magnetic----on the ones I did for the contest the magnet in the top of the holder actually attracted the clip and not the cap stud.
