black limba

Has anyone ever heard of Black limba? Picked up a blank from Woodcraft the other day(was only 1.89) and looked pretty good. Turned it tonight and it was real light wieght and soft. Had to stop turning about a qaurter of the way through and finish it with sandpaper, But has a nice look although it has a lot of small voids because of the rough xture. Will post a picture tommorrow after i finish it.

Ive used it beofre. Not on pens though!

Is really easy to cut sand etc, but very soft. A little like Balsa with its properties, although the stuff I used had black and green streaks. Looked nice with a coat of Danish oil, shame it was so brittle and soft!
