Ok, I've got the baron mandrel from Fangar (Thanks Fangar)
I just recieved an orer of blanks from Dario :D
(Some beautiful wood. Been drooling since I got home.) [:p]
I have gotten my shipping notice from BB that my first baron's are on the way.
Any advice that you good people can offer on the shape of a closed end baron. I was thinking that I would like to make it a pen that can stand-up. (not sure the official name for this style) Are there weight considerations due to the clip? or is it negligible?

TIA
Marc

That is what I was looking to do, only the other way around. where the pen stood with the cap in the air.

I just finished my first closed-end Baron (I'll post pics as soon as I take them) and I noticed that the cap end is quite a bit heavier than the pen end. I think without the extra pieces on the end, the pen is lighter than a regular baron. You migh have top-heavy issues unless you make the base quite large. The pen itself is actually quite light and comfortable to write with.
