Bandless Slim Line Pens

I have turned sereral Slim Lines with no bands and I like making them. Here is a link to instructions on how I do it if anyone else would like to try it. Simplest way I could think of. Also some pictures there of several of the pens.

Joe,
Why use a step drill. Why not just countersink the size you need to accomadate the lower piece.
