I am a newbie just getting in to different materials in pen turning just a dumb question what is Avonite

Avonite is the brand name for a solid surface similar in some ways to corian. Half of the Avonite line is, like corian and wilsonart etc. made of acrylic and the other half of Avonite is made of polyester. The polyester is a softer material and sometimes gives more of a see through look. Check out the avonite web site. Just search Avonite.
