Hi,

I have received a few emails from some Canadians that informed me that Bill B will not longer send his products to Canada. I am not going to comment on his choice to do this, but that is part of his business prerogative. I have been buying from Bill now for awhile but I have my purchases sent to a very close friend who lives in the US. Bill has been great that way for me, I love his stabilized blanks.

What I would like to know is there another source for Canadians to access for stabilized blanks and products like Bill sells, some sources that will support Canadian customers?

I do know that Lee Valley is looking very carefully at expanding their current pen product profile and we may see some changes soon….but then again how nice would that be to also get their traditional customer service as well as new products too.

Try River Ridge. Excellent service and excellent products.

p.s. Rumor has it that Bill Baumbeck is just plain too busy to handle anything but U.S. orders. I dunno, draw your own conclusions.

I've heard the same thing! I have used penblanks.ca and they have quality stuff. He is in Canada. Try Nils at Craft Supplies. They do care about the customer.

Hi Frank,

I have heard the same and I am pleased for him. I am fortunate that I have access to buy from him via a close friend who lives in the USA.

My sole puropse for making this post was to find acccess for other Canadians who want to buy great quality stabilized blanks.

Jim,

I would not hold my breath in terms of Lee Valley expanding their pen line-up. Have you compared to what they sell their slim line or cigar kits? They are so much more expensive than anyone else (US or other Canadian sources).

Try Bill Collier at www.penblanks.ca and I'm certain that you will be impressed with his selection.

Jacques Coulombe (Montreal)has reasonable pricing for PSI kits.

Just offering my usual 2 cents worth (of which I like to keep as much as possible).

Jim,
I have sent Steve at www.rrpwhite.com Birdseye Maple blanks to be stabilized and he does very nice work! The blanks came back exactly as I hoped.
Does anyone here have a pic of a pen that includes Steve's Dyed BEB that they can e-mail me or post?

Hi Peter,

I know they are more expensive than other sources for pen kits ... I can buy from other sources in the US or locally for less. But...I think that they are about to offer some new choices soon....Hmmmm...a Robin Told me so....watch them in the next 30 days or so...shhhhhh

There are alot of people to buy from. I have bought from AS and actually found the shipping to Canada a little ridiculous (over $15.00 US). I have used the following Canadian dealers:

I have bought from Jacques Coulombe. He is a true gentleman. His web site is: http://www.jacquescoulombe.com/pens.htm

I have also bought from Dale (Wallwoody) who is also fantastic. He is usually on e-bay. He used to have a web site.

I have also bought from Bill (http://www.penblanks.ca/). Again, he is fantastic.

Hi Mike,

I know Jacques well, I see him at the woodworking shows and buy most of my tools and some pen blanks from him....I'm not fond of the PSI kits though
