Was wanting to try a 'fatter' cartridge pen, and was thinking that the WSM line-up might be a good place to go.

The .308 Winchester cartridge has a .4728" rim diameter, and 2.800" in lenght.
The 30-06 Springfield cartridge has a .4728" rim diameter, and 3.340" in lenght.
BUT
The 300 WSM cartridge has a .5350" rim diameter, and is still 2.860" in lenght. And is supposed to run .5550" at the widest part of it's 'body'! That should make for one fat pen!!

Just wondering if anyone is already doing this, and if you are...what bushings are you using?

I've made them with dozens of different calibers. I generally just use calipers instead of bushings.

BTW, if you do not want to use a bullet for the tip, use Euro components and that will be a perfect fit for your 338 Lapua

Will other 338 brass fit Euro components with out modification?
I was looking on Cabelas and the 338 Lapua is pretty pricey.
