If anyone is using the Hot Stuff CA, I assume I'm not the only one that has the tip clog up. I went to W.C. the first time to buy replacement tips at $2.99 for two.
Today my better half decided to stop at Jo-Ann's and I wondered around to see what I might find. I found a six pack of empty bottles with caps that looked like they might fit the CA bottle. So I picked up a pack for $1.99 with the coupon ($2.99 regular) and they are a perfect fit. The CA doesn't seem to stick inside the tip as bad either.
Just thought I would pass this along to anyone having the clogging problems.

Dozer J.,

Try not using any cap on your CA. Just tap the bottle so the tip is cleared after each use. You will find that your CA is good to the last drop. Nope, I can't explain it; it just works.

Billy, chime in here so J. won't think I'm crazy! [:D]

They are the caps and bottles. The number is 1162-16 and the company name is "Darice". It says they are good for glue, plastic cement, and chemicals. Maybe good for those that use BLO.[?]

I've tried everything to keep the original caps clear but, over time and repeated uses, they just seem to clog up.

Hope this helps all in need.

I found them on Jo-ann's website.
Go to joann.com and put 8154767 in the search box.

I tell ya, for CA glue, bottles, tips, caps, etc, you can not beat the deals you get from Mannie Steglich's Wooden Wonders website.

http://woodenwonderstx.com/WWBlue/NewGlueWS.html

You can pick up a new top and cap for $0.37 or bag of 25 tops and caps for $9.35. And this includes the shipping.

btw: The tip on tapping the bottle a couple of times after each use is dead on. I never have a clog (when I remember to do it).[:D]

Another tip is to take the cloged tips and caps, put them in a mason jar with some accetone. After a couple days the clogged CA is disolved away and you have a cap you can use again.

The above information regarding CA is correct.

HOwever, Billy is not qualified to determine Cav's mental condition. This would require a SPECIALIST --an "infanitessimalcerebroligist" [:0][:0][:0][:0]

or, perhaps, Angela!!![:D][:D][}:)][}:)][}:)]

I'm with you, Paul... and they keep dragging me into it. Whadido?[:p]

How 'bout a lil help here, Ang?

And FWIW, infanitessimalcerebroligist directly translates into "one who studies peabrains". So in this case Angela would be more than adequately qualified to such a determination for either of you.[}:)][:D]

Ed,

I think that makes the two of us "micro-encephlics" (yes Billy, that is made up[:D]) Angela a pea shooting psychologist, and I guess that leaves Billy to be the .............. well draw your own conclusions. [}:)][;)][:0]

Be careful if you 'tap' the bottle to clear the tip. My neighbor just had his eyelid glued shut when he 'tapped' his lid. I think he must have hit it to hard.

I always mash the bottle just a tad before I tilt it over to get the glue to come out. That way when I am finished and stand the bottle upright and release the bottle a little bit of air is sucked back into the tip thus clearing it.

And, leaving the tip off does indeed work very well. Someone told me a while back that the CA will not cure rapidly if it is not being in direct contact with the moving air. It will cure in time, but not as fast as it does when it is sealed up. I don't understand it either, so don't bang me up too badly. [;)]

Boy I really have been missing a lot while getting moved! I still don't have internet access- am using the public library to catch up on things and found this thread. I'm still debating on whose description I like the best and who I should argue with! [:D]

Besides, you sure can't agree with CAV, that you're a big, fat Psycho?????????? I thought that was TERRIBLE!!!!!

Hope your move is going well!!

Yeah, Cav may be in trouble for that one! He'll have to come up with a much more flattering description. Maybe something like a sweet, charming, beautiful, talented, exceptional psychologist? I'm sure you'll endorse that one, right Ed and Billy?
