Anyone build their own pen display boxes?

I am in the design phase of a pen display (glass/plexi top) I am looking maybe 18" - 20" wide. I am pretty sure it will be made from Paduck, but I was wondering if anyone had some designs to share. I have my idea of what it will look like, but would love some ideas.

Sounds like a good start, but most of the commercial "cheapies" are made from "Chinawood (My word)" It looks an awful lot like paduak-I'd use something else if I were making one. (Just a thought!!)
