Any clubs or groups in Wilmington, NC

I have taught a young man how to turn pens and bottle stoppers over the summer, and in turn learned myself. He lives in Wilmington and his parents will buy him the little Harbor Freight lathe for Xmas to turn pens etc. I would like to know if there are any clubs or such in Wilmington. Here at Smith Mountain Lake VA we have an active group of bowl turners that meet. His dad is not a woodworker and I showed his dad how to turn one pen gave him the PSI video. I have taught the boy safety etc. but I would feel a lot better if he had a local group to meet. JB

I used to live in wilmington. I miss that place. he should buy some of the salvaged wood form wilmington wood. they have some nice black water wood.
