Not saying it can't be done; but my calculator suggests that folks who try this on a regular basis are probably going to have a tough time making the balance sheet end up in the black.
What you will be trying to do is drill a blank that is already cut to the final dimension of a finished bushing to bushing slimline. Not only do you have to drill a perfect hole; but in doing so you have to hope that the wood will hold together because the final thickness of the remaining wood will be around 0.03"......about 3/4 mm!! If i was ever lucky enough to accomplish that feat, I would brag about it like crazy and "NEVER" try to do it again!! I mean absolutely no disrespect to Jim on this subject. Just pointing out that this is tremendously low percentage operation for the average weekend pen crafter!!
I don't have a set of slimline bushings handy; but the chart posted by Nils on the Yahoo board says the slimline bushings are 0.334"!! How far is that from 1/3"[?]
