another pine cone and friend

hello everyone,

here is another pine cone and an olive burl. the cone was big enough to drill for the large tube and get the right depth for the white of the outside of the pith to show. the olive is a local tree not BOW. thanks for looking.

Very nice Laurie!!! I'm trying to imagine what one of my Loblolly pine cones would look like and if they are suitable to turn. I don't think there is enough cone to the pine, if ya know what I mean. Do you think you could show us a "before" picture so we can get an idea of how big and dense your cones are?

Hi Laurie,

Unfortunately, pine cones in Scotland only come in about half that size.[]

The pens are great! Like the Pine cone best.

Maybe I could use a seperate cone for the lower barrel, and another for the top.....[^]ahhhh it may be possible!!!!!!!!

Al, aren't Longleaf Pine cones bigger than Loblolly? I know you have those down there too.
