Americana Black Plastic

Have any of you had any trouble scratching the black plastic on the americana kit?

I've made 2 and both now have scratches on the plastics. I would like to find a 10k metal nib that screws into the nib cupler. Also do you think I can buy replacement plastic pieces only without buying the whole kit from CSUSA?

call them & find out..it's free...if plastic is scratched spin it and micro mesh it

Maybe add a couple coats of thin CA to help protect it?
