1)I am planing on laser engrave them. do I apply any finsh on it or just finish like acrilic?

2)Is there anything I should know about turning this. First time with it I would not like to make a [)] of my self.
Thanks

1. Finish like acrylic. No finish required.
2. It blows out easily when drilling. Leave it long and trim the excess. Take light cuts with sharp tools. It turns very well if you ask me. I like working with this stuff.

You will also have to have it color filled after engraving. The laser doesn't burn any color into it.

If you bought this stuff from CSUSA, it came with a sheet of paper that recommends turning at something like 1000rpm. I tried it and the first blank blew apart. I turned the speed up to about 2600 for the next one and it turned just fine.

Here are some photos from a previous post. This is a Burmese Teak and Alternate Ivory pen with engraving from Ken at Kallenshaan Woods. Turn at my normal high speed for shaping (fast as my Rikon lathe will go). Polished prior to engraving.
