Good morning all,
Have/do any of you use these? Abralon sanding pads, 500-4000 grit. How well do they work and how long lasting are they? Are they worth purchasing or am I better off continuing using sandpaper and MM[?]
Thanks for any replies.

That's a great but loaded question, George. I use them from time to time and watched Richard Kleinhenz use them in a demo in Provo. I find them to be very good in the "traditional" 500+ grit range and somewhat similar to Micro-mesh up to 4000. The real question is whether or not it's worth it to use the Micro-mesh beyond the Abralon 4000. For me it is.

As far as long lasting, Rich indicated that he cuts the squares in thirds. Coupling that with my experience, the pads should last 100's if not 1000's of pens.

One small advantage is that the pads wick away a great deal of the heat of sanding.

I'll probably continue to use both for awhile.
