Default .50 Cal Bottle Openers

Just wondering if any one has made a .50 Cal Bottle Opener.
I would like to know what angle and how deep do you cut the slot into the case?
.50 Cal cases are too hard to get here , to stuff one up in trial and error

I can appreciate the "hard to get" ...

You would probably get a pretty good idea from the website picture on the PSI site ... but, also "probably" you have already looked :)

Just in case you might find it helpful, here is the appropriate link to the PSI site ...

Edit: WARNING - I question the use of the 50 Cal cartridge as a bottle opener. In my ignorant opinion, the material in the cartridge (brass ?) could be softer than the material in the bottle cap ("steel" ?), in which case the bottle opener may not last long.

If I am not mistaken this idea was pitched on Shark Tank and Mark Cuban bought in and the guy is making a mint.

Thanks, John and dogcatcher, for your contributed information.

I find it interesting and I am sure our friend in Australia will also.

Perhaps my warning above is unwarranted ... looks like these cartridges are probably much stronger than I thought.

I made some for a reunion about 5 years ago. I cut a line with a hacksaw, then used a rattail file to get the shape, and made the hook part using a chainsaw file. I looked for pics. Basically it looked sort of like the one in the video. I tested each one on a case of 24 6oz bottles of Coke. The grandkids never had bottled Coke before, they thought it was pretty neat.

Finally found pics, they are on this link. https://thogamecallsforums.com/index...html#msg132353

Thanks for the link Mal.
After looking at the link John posted I want one of the 30 mm bottle opener.
Nicely done Marvin, bet they were well received by your unit.
