2mm Lead Holders

A while ago I and others were talking about finding a 2mm lead holder that looked and worked like the Staedtler 2mm lead holder. It was noted that you would have to break the barrel to get at the mechanism and destroy the spring. This past weekend I was in a hobby lobby and picked up a Pacific Arc H1304 On this pencil the barrel can be unscrewed and removed easily. You cannot remove the transmission without destroying the spring but al least you can make a new barrel. I have not checked the thread size yet.

the lead holder looks very close to the Staedtler. In a side by side comparison I actually like the Pacific Arc better. Better heft and more pronounced knurling.

There's always the option of simply embedding the Staedtler in another, fatter barrel.

The "Power pencil kit " has a click 2 mm lead and comes with a tube of spare leads, also a matching click Biro from memory make nice gift sets. Cheers ~John
