.270 cartridge pen

This is a .270 caliber nickel plated rifle cartridge, with a CSUSA mini european pen nib and platinum european clip and cap, and deer antler upper with bark inclusion.

How is the void inside the cartridge filled, if at all?

I used a mini european pen kit from CSUSA for the cartridge. I used the step down lower tube and glued a piece of black acrylic to the small end of the tube to simulate a bullet and also to taper from the cartridge mouth to the mini euro's nib. The step down tube will work fine if you drill a 17/64" hole through the butt of the cartridge and use a small hand file to ensure a tight fit. Just turn down the plastic to the inside diameter of the shell and turn a lip on the end so the tube will butt against the mouth of the shell to prevent it from sliding all the way in the the mounth and use a little CA and you've got it.
