Ok, here is a piece of wood I dug up this weekend. It is a piece of burl from a peach tree I cut last year in my yard. I plan to use Curtis' "Useless Wood" technique to see what I can get out of it. And no, that is not snow on the wood, it is fungus so I hope I can find some spaulting in it. Stay Tuned!!:D

Fred, actually what I did was cut it, sealed the ends and shoved it under the deck but in contact with the ground. It would get wet when it rained but not soaked. It laid on the humid ground for about 10 months. Last week I pulled it out and left it out in the open to air dry.

Here is a pic of the log cut into slabs. I am a bit dissapointed but not discouraged. No spault but alot of figure.
