Second Zen.
This is a Zen with a custom blank ( 2 of 2) that Marko50 made for me (and dropped off today). It shows the Ute Nation flag and a picture showing the mountain rose, which is symbolic for the Ute's. The tribal elder from the Ute tribe wears his chief's blanket, which is embroidered with mountain rose bead work, similar to what you see on the pen. My wife and I teach Native American Culture at our local community college and we have guest speakers - tribal elders - that share their experiences with the class. In the Native American tradition, we present them with a gift that I make from wood - bowls, platters, pens. Since we usually have the same speakers back for each semester, it gets difficult to come up with something different.
This time I decided on a tribe specific pen. This one is the Ute Nation.
