Haven't been in the shop much over the last few months - life's kept me busy and on my toes in numerous ways - but I've been able to start spending a little more time in the shop lately.

Here's a requested pen that I finished up a few days ago, made with one of my favorite woods.

Yellow Cedar Burl on a Chrome Slimline. CA finish polished with MicroMesh to 12K.

C&C Welcome. Does it ever feel good to get some more time in the shop...

Super job on the pen! Fit & Finish look spot on!

I agree that the yellow cedar Burl makes for a wonderful pen!
The last one I did was on a Zen.

Thank you!

That does look nice for a slimline. I guess I've never seen that wood.

Great job, that wood is new to me as well.

Yellow Cedar Burl (Also known as Nootka Cyprus Burl) can be found in Alaska and Canada, but isn't the most common of woods. (Which is why I usually buy what I can when I see it available and the price is right - and why I have a small stash of it.) It's got its own distinct smell when working with it - at first I was put off by the smell, but now I like it. It's a great wood to work with - and has looked great on every pen I've made with it.
