My third Yari pen, this one in hardite and gunmetal finish. The blank is a Stardust Blue Lagoon from Exotic blanks. The blank is pretty, but there are metal particles suspended in the resin. From the website description: "A very pretty royal blue pearl is accented with silver metallic "stardust" particles suspended in the resin." They are obviously bits of aluminum, and in my opinion, are unnecessary. The blank would have been prettier without them, I think. As it is, the aluminum bits are a little distracting. They look like they shouldn't be there.

No, I just polished it with my usual regimen. Wet sanding with 320 and 400 grit; wet sanding with all 9 grades of Micromesh; polishing with Novus 3 and 2; and finally polishing with Meguiar's PlastX.

Jim, I tend to agree with you. The metal bits seem to detract from the appearance. Thanks for posting this. I will avoid these blanks.

Good looking pen.

I will be the contrarian on the blank. Young women seem to like them very much. I am ok with what ever the recipient of the pen likes, and those seem to attract some interest.

Probably just not a "guy pen"

I agree with KenV, those of the fairer sex tend to like the bling effect.

I also think you should put a CA finish over it, otherwise the aluminum particles that are exposed with darken prematurely and then it looked "weathered" before its time.

Attractive Pen, Jim.
I tend to agree with you on the Aluminium Flecks, the Blank is Attractive enough without them.
Also, agree with Dave, on the CA coat.
Great Fit and Finish.
Congratulations,
Brian.
