Had to see how this would turn out.
It writes fine and the light is very bright.
Doesn't smoke very well though!

No attempt on the stylus as it would probably not work with all the wood.

May have to rethink the glowing embers because the LED has a blue tint that messes with the red and I end up with a weird glow color!

Love it! I have not seen this rig. Is it two separate sections, or do you flip it? Did you do anything special to the ash, or just drill it? Maybe add a small red slug hidden in the ash. Looks good in the picture!

Harry, the center section flips and it fits together with it in either position.
The kit normally has a stylus on the upper end and there is normally only one blank involved. I used a brass tube spare for the lower blank.

Thanks all for the kind comments.
I'm always looking to do something different!

This is a great piece of work Dale. I'm intrigued with the lighting set up and would like to know how you pulled it off. Maybe a tutorial in the future?? At any rate, top of the line and first class in my book.

This is just too cool. You've gotta teach us how to make one! What is the ash made from, and how did you make it translucent?

Great Idea and Exercution.
How do you switch the Flash Light, and the LED?
Ingenious. So good I may have to go back to smoking.
