Hi,

Had a few of these blanks for a while and eventually decided to see what they look like! Glad I did as the wood is stunning, has great contrast between the colours and turns easily. Just takes a lot of filling if you dont want all the tiny pin-holes left in your finish!

Phil, glad you like the wood. every time i cut more pieces of this, it is more stunning than the last. I really like your pen.

WOW. Absolutely stunning pen. The finish is superb and the wood is just jaw dropping.

I'll take natures own castings any day over acrylic :)

Got a few more pieces, but turn two and they were both stunning but very different as one had more of the red patches!! Definately be looking for some more after Christmas!!

It is a beautiful wood. I have used it with green mica filling the little holes. I have an easy time making pens but not so easy time selling them but the Ramon stump always sells.
